Best Video Game Experiences in 2017
No. No. No I refuse.I stood by for far too long watching some of the most ludicrous awards give nominations to the weirdest games while other games went unnoticed, I stood by as Hollywood descended into bat shit insanity levels of Oscar Nomination and watched Dice and Golden Joystick award some at-best-questionable and at-worst-hilarious titles. No more. Here are my 2017 Best Video Game Experiences.Best Storytelling.PreyDivinity Original Sin IIShovel Knight: Specter of TormentRunner Up: PreyPrey was surprisingly awesome, the atmosphere alone presents an insanely thick universe for the player to live in, while the story is simple, the game provides a lot of
Resident Evil 7 Review
RE7 has good atmosphere. But when you play Dark Souls and you see a huge monster, do you get frightened? Intimidated by the monster's size, or the amount of swords it has? I mean why wouldn't you, Dark Souls has great artstyle and it wants you to feel that way sometimes.I personally don't, I like seeing monsters as challenges, as targets. But even still you appreciate the effort and quality of the artstyle. Not with RE7 tho. Very little variation. The whole game takes place in 2 different environments, gross and decayed house in the swamps, and a very small section on a ship. The
Divinity Original Sin 2 Review
Divinity 2 could very well be one of my favorite RPGs of all time. I played DOS1 prior to DOS2's launch and can say that while there are huge differences in the games DOS2 still adds so much to the table that you gotta appreciate it.DOS2 is a classic RPG, heavy on the story and dialogue with an immense character interaction between everything allowing the player to experience the story in several different perspectives as well as different smaller stories and side quests. On top of having a very cool combat system, turn based, and rewarding the player with tons of

Our Time at EGX 2017
So here we are again, writing another article about another EGX event. Two members of the OP team went to EGX in 2017, and we have both individually written reviews of the event.Lewis When we arrived at the event, one of the first things that struck me was the lack of creativity in the art being used. I didn't feel hugely excited to be there, apart from the huge amount of people attending, I didn't feel like I was arriving at anything special. I remember in the early days of Eurogamer, I used to feel like I was attending something out of
Cuphead's Controversial Review
Everyone knows what this game is so let's get down to brass tacks.Artstyle.Done in perfect 1930's cartoon style, the game features one of the most impressive, adorable and timeless visuals of all time, it's truly worth it to simply watch it as a cartoon, it also seemingly implements new UI elements into it for the game itself.Gameplay.The game features 3 types of gameplay, Run' N' Gun' as your typical sidescrolling platformer shooter such as Megaman, a bullet hell Shoot Em Up with everything to dodge in your little airplane, and the Contracts where you take individually unique fights against a multitude
Exclusive Interview with Lead Developer of Scorn
Recently I had the opportunity to speak with, Ljubomir Peklar of EBB software, about the upcoming new game Scorn. For those who are not aware of the game, here is the most recent trailer ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gug_0mNhg4k ) It has a very unique setting for the game as you can see. I was excited when I first had seen something about the game and wanted to find out more about it. Amazingly I was able to ask some questions about the game, these are those questions. 1. First and for most I suppose would be, 'About how long would part 1 be?'
Sonic Mania Review
Out of the way, the blue Hedgehog came back, in all it's pixely goodness. If you haven't played Sonic games this is a perfect time to give them a shot, and if you have played them you are likely not even reading this article, and are probably playing Sonic Mania right now.Sonic Mania is everything a Sonic fan would want starting with the fact that it's a new 2D adventure after roughly 23 years since the release of Sonic & Knuckles (1994). Sonic has always been around with different variants of the genre, things like Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic Collection, Spinball
Retro Dose #31 - Drakan: Order of the Flame
In today's dose, we turn back to the past century when we, in the ambitious Drakan, cooked evil orcs with our own dragon. Thanks to the popularity of the current Game of Thrones, I think we can now freely say that the idea of owning and riding their own dragon to the general public has become a more attractive concept. It was just the main concept in Drakan, which we got in 1999 on PC from Surreal Software developer. As an action adventure from a third person in which you can ride your own winged companion, in the role of somewhat stubborn women,
Fortnite Battle Royale is PUBG for the poor
Popular PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds inspired Fortnite's developer to prepare their own Battle Royale game for free.Epic Games, creator of Fortnite, obviously liked the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds popularity and they prepared their own Battle Royale game. Battle Royale is a mod for Fortnite that will come out as a separate and completely free game on September 26th for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles. So, this PvP mode, with 100 players playing, and only one winner, will beat PUBG in at least two things - it will come to consoles earlier and will not ask you to drag into the wallet. However, Epic Games
