Age of Darkness: Final Stand Review

White hot embers crackled and popped, bursting to the air. The fire was large and comfortable, but there was little glee to be found here. Men sat, helmets tucked between weary knees. Most sat in silence, some spoke in hushed whispers- voices barely rising above the scraping of tin against tin as they ate the meager nightly rations. Morale was wavering. The sky, sprinkled with diamonds gave no comfort- it was tainted- cursed with an eerie viridescent glow, infernal tongues nipping and writhing towards the sky. It was unnatural- the tell-tale sign of the Nightmares soon to come, to swarm the

Fountains Review

The thick rustle and snap of wool was deafening upon your rapidly unexpected descent. Down…down...down…down...You land with an unceremonious thud, a fluster of dust clamoring to the air at your sudden arrival, the specks flickering in the glaring sunlight that poured from the mouth of the craggy hollow above. Every bone in your body aches, ribs sore with each laborious breath. Even long after the sound of footsteps, hushed voices and clanking of armor fade, you are slow to rise. Groaning, you pull yourself to your feet, fingers rolling across your stinging palms as you dislodge debris of stone and bone:

Mutation Review

Authors Note: I was absolutely delighted to be informed that the developer was kind enough to take the time to read my article. Additionally, he was kind enough to clarify some areas where I needed to correct some facts, and gave some further understanding. The article below has been updated to reflect this. Of note, while published under the Ossified name, this was the passion project of one person (who has been accurately credited below) over the course of a year. During that time he made no profit off Mutation, entirely self funding.I  would like to take the time to thank the

Go Home Annie Review

YOU'LL COME FOR THE HORROR BUT STAY FOR EVERYTHING ELSEI’m currently obsessed with horror, so I was excited to try Go Home Annie, a newly released first-person, horror adventure game available on Steam, Epic and Gog. After playing, I'd have a hard time calling this a true horror game. There are a few jump scares and some mild gore, but it never generated any feelings of dread. It was, however, packed with plenty of other things I love - amazing creepy visuals, awesome audio, a wide variety of interesting puzzles, platforming, exploration and a good story.  Developed by Misfit Village and

BeastieBall Review

Set. Spike. Win!IntroductionOh no. Can you feel it? The tingling for a new adventure, or perhaps the urge to collect all that you see—because that is the way. This is a refreshing and artful take on an iconic genre of games, those known to inspire an obsession with cute little creatures. And yet, while the monster-collecting RPG are the game's core, I think the application and design of actual combat breaks through and beyond that template.Did I forget to mention? This game is all about Volleyball Beastieball. You build your team and you compete for points against others.I didn't think it  would happen

Astrometica Review

How many days has it been?Days have bled into weeks, and weeks into months. Months since the space station went up in flames, and by some fleeting miracle, you managed to survive by the skin of your teeth. You still couldn’t help but feel guilty- not everyone was so lucky; no one made it out with you in the emergency pod. It was a blessing and a curse. The only solace being you didn’t have to divvy up supplies, allowing the faintest flicker of hope at being able to last just a little longer: just long enough for a rescue.A flame

Garage Flipper Review

Game title: Garbage Garage FlipperDeveloper: Farmind StudioRelease Date: October 9th 2024OS: Windows 10/11Platform: SteamPrice: £12.79/$14.99Where did my shelf go?...... When I saw Garbage Garage Flipper I knew I had to check it out. Being a fan of Flipper and renovation games it called out to me. As mundane as it sounds, I wasn't too sure what to expect from it...but it's a flipper game right, it can't be that bad. Well, it does exactly what it says on the tin but someone left the tin in storage, as there are bugs crawling all over it. You walk into your own garage which has 2 floors but
