Retro Dose #18 - The Settlers
We jump in the early days of the famous strategy series The Settlers and we remember how the economy looked like when it started back in 1993.The Settlers is a very popular series among the strategy game players on the PC which, in the nineties, began to climb to fame, and has seen more than a dozen sequels. Although many will probably be nostalgic for the third sequel, we will take this opportunity to briefly look around the very beginning. For its strategic project developer Blue Byte in the early nineties they were originally planning to put together something modeled on
Retro Dose #17 - SSX Tricky
This Retro Dose brings you a little refreshment with a lot of snow and high jumps in SSX Tricky, so prepare your ice cream.Because of the hellish heat I spent the last few days half naked with ice cream in hand near a fan that is struggling to turn on, let alone cool me off , but of course that was not enough. The desire for ice is greater then the 25th hour of the day and cubes that are precisely created in glaciers evaporate as soon as I see them. That's why I'm going for this game to sort out
Retro Dose #16 - Lemmings
Little lost Lemmings require your attention in today's Retro Dose! We remember how there was a time when game developers mixed many different genres to get something completely new.Probably most of you played, or at least heard, about these little guys - and there's a reason for that, because Lemmings were really popular back in the day. This well-known classic, also a strange hybrid of puzzle platformer with strategic elements was released in 1991 for the Amiga and PC, ie. MS-DOS.This is one of those titles that, like Tetris, was so blessed that it had spread to more than twenty other
Retro Dose #15 - Japan World Cup
Today we bypass retro content of what you expect and step into the recent past with the game that's just for everyone's taste, but only because it is one of the most bizarre titles ever. One day I was really bored I just didn't want to play anything serious. That's why I chose one of the craziest and stupidest thing I could find in the bottomless pit called the "Internet", and of course I eventually found myself in a country where every idea, no matter how crazy , gets its chance.Game Japan World Cup is most easily described as a horse race
Retro Dose #14 - Gex
Remember Gex, the green lizard in the nineties mixed between Sonic and Super Mario? Today's Retro Dose is here as a small reminder of him.It seems that soon we will finally welcome back one of the most popular furry mascots of Sony Playstation - Crash Bandicoot, which is what got me thinking about what other mascots we had before. While Sega's Sonic is pretty much still alive, and Super Mario is still the most recognizable face of gaming, in their earlier times there was another competitor. I'm talking of course about Gex - the green lizard who in 1994 began to

Glad to hear! The rewind feature is a great idea, but, unfortunately, we rejected it in the early stages of development. Not sure if it was the right decision : )
Your article helps with understaning what impression the game makes. Thanks and good luck you too with your efforts!

Thank you for the compliment, I have enjoyed this brain-teaser quite a bit, well done! Curious to see what those ideas will be, I'm hoping one of them to be the rewind feature. Good luck for the launch!

Thank you. I'm sure you could probably tell from reading the article, but Out of Sight is a game that feels particularly personal for me, partly due to my state while playing it, but also because I had been waiting for a Prey sequel for years and will likely be waiting forever.
I hope I was able to keep my objectivity - I tried!
I would love to return to Prey sometime for a review.
I'll have to see if I can track down a copy when I'm done with my current projects.

As someone who also loved the original Prey but tried hard and failed to enjoy the 2017 release (not a bad game, just not for me), I thought this article was really well written. Maybe one day you'll consider doing a retro review of the original?

UPDATE: There are now 100 products in the Trove. Of course, the majority of these are smaller or novelty titles, as there's no way to purchase OP points and fraud up to now basically cut away the little profit we made from things like quests or ads, they're essentially reskinned giveaways, so there's only so much we can list for "purchase" there.
The store will include both Trove and standard products, so is the place to look for any more premium games you might want - but again, as per the article, this is majorly being stripped back and will hold limited titles moving forward.September 20, 2023 -

The Trove had already been cut back, the store is where the bulk of the work needs to be done as this can't be done automatically like we could with the Trove.
That said, we expect to be able to add more to the Trove once the store work has been completed so it should actually increase a little.
