Retro Dose #7 - Counter Strike
Today I'm gonna tell you a story of a very successful Half-Life mod which quickly became one of the most important Valve titles with an active career of more than fifteen years.Counter-Strike was released on the market 19 July 1999 in public-beta as a modification for Half-Life, a game that at that time was not only one of the most important things in gaming, but also on the Internet. Planet Half-Life, page dedicated to news from the world of Half-Life, in two weeks of the newly opened Counter-Strike section already recorded 10,000 views, an unprecedented record at the time. This has resulted
Retro Dose #6 - Shadow of the Colossus
Shadow of the Colossus... (IMO) The best and most unique game on PS2, and one of the best games of all time. If you never played this or heard of this game - you missed out... a lot.First of all, it's hard to talk about the game without spoiling anything, but I'll try to avoid it as much as I can. Secondly, trying to describe exactly what makes Shadow of the Colossus so fantastic is akin to trying to describe why the bodies of work of Picasso, Bach or Beethoven are unquestioned classics; you can do your best, but any of
Retro Dose #5 - God Hand
With Opium Pulse's new Retro Dose series, I decided to contribute with one of mine.If you ever experienced Hype through a game like Metal Gear Rising Revengeance or perhaps Ninja Gaiden, if you ever experienced the fun of beating up unimportant jobbers with a wide variety of moves and weapons in a Beat'Em Up game, if you ever wanted a game that crossed the limits of your imagination when it comes to Action Combat and features little to no story and a difficulty so engraving that makes Dark Souls look like Angry Birds, then I have a game for you.God Hand
Retro Dose #4 - Icy Tower
In todays Retro Dose we remember the hilariously addictive game that won the whole world - Icy Tower.A funny arcade game Icy Tower is a free freeware title by a development studio with an equally humorous name - Free Lunch Design, released in 2001 for PC and Mac. Those who played it remember that the goal of the game was incredibly easy - jumping on an infinitely high ice tower as much as you can before you fall and destroy your sweet sweet combo. In order of variations, the theme of the platform on which you jumped changed every 100 floors,
Retro Dose #3 - Postal
One of the most brutal games ever made is the theme of our new Retro Dose, and the only thing that beat that silly, sadistic fun is its sequel - Postal 2 in 2003.In 1997 a group of enthusiasts gathered in Arizona under the name Running With Scissors decided to make a game that is primarily supposed to suit their own taste. I believe that they themselves did not realise they would make such a sick game that the whole gaming community, various psychologists and psychiatrists and numerous supporters campaign to ban violence in video games will talk about it for

Glad to hear! The rewind feature is a great idea, but, unfortunately, we rejected it in the early stages of development. Not sure if it was the right decision : )
Your article helps with understaning what impression the game makes. Thanks and good luck you too with your efforts!

Thank you for the compliment, I have enjoyed this brain-teaser quite a bit, well done! Curious to see what those ideas will be, I'm hoping one of them to be the rewind feature. Good luck for the launch!

Thank you. I'm sure you could probably tell from reading the article, but Out of Sight is a game that feels particularly personal for me, partly due to my state while playing it, but also because I had been waiting for a Prey sequel for years and will likely be waiting forever.
I hope I was able to keep my objectivity - I tried!
I would love to return to Prey sometime for a review.
I'll have to see if I can track down a copy when I'm done with my current projects.
