Stealth Assault: Urban Strike Review

Developer and PublisherHapGames

Great shooting game, prevent the insurgency crisis on the planet! We will see you on the frontline!

Stealth Assualt: Urban Strike, or SA-US for short is a mission-based game with the sole objective of shooting your enemies, and doing the objectives set out in each level.

There are 16 levels in total in this shoot-them-up style game, it's not a lot but it at least fills an hour in your already tight schedule.

Releasing soon in Early January of 2024, we can only hope that this developer can add the controls, ADS and more levels to make this game shine.

Gameplay

There isn't a tutorial, but the game's premise is fairly easy to use. Controls are your typical FPS style.

There are some problems with the controls though, minus the fact that you can't customize them, simple things like being able to vault a small wall are non-existent and if you did try to, you'll simply get "stuck" there.

Using ADS while moving doesn't appear to be well executed either as it will cancel you out, I did find a small glitch, or it could very well be a feature.

You can ADS while moving, but it requires you to button mash Melee while you do so, and it will also make you walk slowly until you press Melee to get out of it.

Another problem with the ADS is that it slows your aim down so much that I had to slide my mouse across the desk to make it move, this is apparent when using the sniper weapon.

Hip-firing is just as accurate as ADS'ing anyways, also there's no crouching or Sprint either.

Good luck trying to run and gun through the levels, as you have to fully stop moving before you can shoot at the aimbots of the AI, fortunately, they only seem to respond when you get within a certain range of them.

There is one last thing to be wary of... Making headshots will play the sound "Headshot" over... And over........ And OVER again...

Melee also sucks, you will never use it.

Now that all the nitpicks are out of the way, let's move on to what makes the game!

Throughout the 16 levels you are given, you can choose from a set of weapons which cost money to upgrade or to buy, don't worry too much about the price tag, you can easily make enough money to purchase the best Class in 2 missions.

Killing enemies is your form of payment but you must pick up the dropped cash.

Weapons include the Pistol, MP5, M16, AK, Shotgun, Sniper and the Grenades. I enjoyed the M16 and the Sniper class. If you buy them all, you'll be cycling weapons until you get the one you want to use.

Each weapon has 5 upgrades too, which increase damage, range and accuracy.

Each level has a specific objective(s) that you must achieve before going onwards, most notably - Kill all the terrorists.

Objectives could be to rescue hostages, disable camera systems, and destroy the supply trucks.

With only 2 maps spanned across 16 levels, the game can be completed in a matter of 45 minutes.

Despite its flaws, mainly with the ADS, I enjoyed this little shooter game, it's like an upgraded DOOM kind of thing.

Final Thoughts

As mentioned, I did enjoy playing the game, despite its flaws, the graphics are well made, the sound quality is OK, also the game isn't increasingly hard, but it does add new elements in certain levels like the suicide bombers, which messed up my no-death run once...

This game could have some good gameplay elements, by adding more maps, and more objectives while improving the control scheme, removing that awful headshot sound for consecutive headshots would be highly appreciated.

Gaining money is incredibly easy, $250 per kill, I think it should be lowered, since you can replay finished levels anyways.

Rating

I would rate this game a 4

While it does have flaws, it's also a pretty chill game, with some good areas for improvement and has potential for achievement collecting too. It would be 5 but only perfect games get that score, this game is far from perfect, but good nonetheless.

This game is still in the beta stage, so I did expect some issues when playing the game.

(5 being the absolute best)
