EA Files for "Ghosts" Trademark, Refused by Ubisoft
EA is no stranger to making headlines for all the wrong reasons, and it seems like they're living up to the name once again, filing for trademark on "Ghost".
The whole thing started March last year, when EA applied to trademark "Ghost" for its Ghost Games studio. Of course, Ubisoft would naturally decline the idea, as the publisher has been using the Ghost Recon mark since November 13, 2001. Though they initially opposed the trademark on August last year, legal action has yet to made until January 29.
Originally posted by opposition filing:"Applicant's Mark so resembles Opposer's Ghost Recon marks alleged herein as to be likely, when used in connection with the goods and services identified in the Applications, to cause confusion, to cause mistake, or to deceive.
Consumers are likely to believe, mistakenly, that the goods and services Applicant offers under Applicant's Mark are provided, sponsored, endorsed, or approved by Opposers, or are in some way affiliated, connected, or associated with Opposers, all to the detriment of Opposers"

Crowdfunded Game Aborted Due to Money Misuse
Eric Tereshinski has been developing Ant Simulator for a while now, and he recently announced that he will be abandoning the project due to his business partners spedning almost all of the game's budget on alcohol and strippers.
Originally posted by Tereshinski:"I recently found out that my ex-business partners were secretly stealing company money. They had secretly spent the overwhelming majority of both our Kickstarter money and the Ant Simulator investment money on liquor, restaurants, bars and even strippers."
You can understand how crushed he is, as he has been partners with these individuals for 11 years. Though there's virtually no chance of releasing the game at all, Tereshinski's ex-business partners have threatened to sue should he try and release the game independently.
Originally posted by Tereshinski:"I’m very pissed off I lost money. I lost over a year in work. And I lost a game that I loved and I was proud of and I was really looking forward to releasing on Steam and PS4. It was supposed to be my first big step in really taking a shot at making video games as a career. But I have to start over now."
You can watch his video confession here:
The "business partners" mentioned are Tyler Monce and Devon Staley, who denied all allegations towards them.
Originally posted by Monce:"I don’t know why he’s painting that picture, but the reality is that anything that was spent in a bar or restaurant was very reasonable in nature when you look at any business, including video game companies. It was part of our operating budget, it’s not anything that was excessive. It was all reported to the IRS. The picture he’s painting about that is 100 percent bullshit."
