What You Didn't Know About the Norwegian High School with eSports on its Timetables

Most of you who keep up with 9gag or pop culture entirely will have heard about the Norwegian high school who now has eSports and gaming as a new subject in their timetable. Here's a few more info about their new gaming classes.

Games like Dota 2, League of Legends, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive are some of the subjects to be taught in the gaming classes of Garnes Vidaregaande Skule, Norway, marking them the first school to offer gaming related classes as an elective in the world.

The classes will start in August 2016, and the school is holding a poll to select two of the most popular games to be taught in the classes. Science department manager Petter Grahl Johnstad has confirmed that regardless of the games selected, there will not be any textbooks involved. The gaming room will offer 15 high-end gaming PCs with Nvidia GeForce GTX 980Ti video cards. The class size is set for 30 students, meaning half of the students will be gaming while the other half does "physical work outs like reflex, general body strength, and endurance training".

Microsoft Acquires MinecraftEdu from Teacher Gaming

Following the purchase of Mojang last year, Microsoft has reportedly acquired MinecraftEdu fromTeacher Gaming, while the terms of the deal remains undisclosed.

MinecraftEdu is a learning tool in game form, a version of Minecraft specifically tuned for classroom use. Teacher Gaming has described the learning tool as "made for teachers, for teachers".


Not much more is known regarding what lies ahead of the deal, but Microsoft already plans to build out Minecraft Education Edition, based on MinecraftEdu with a free trial of the product to be launched this summer.

New Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Raiding Techniques Reported

Any CS:GO users out there should be warned of a new technique used by criminals to steal from Steam accounts via Chrome Extensions.

Chrome extensions with the names of CSGODouble Theme Changer, CS:GO Double Withdraw Helper, Csgodouble AutoGambling Bot and Improved CSGODouble are some of the suspected Chrome extensions.

Good news though, as Chrome extensions are relatively easy to remove.
To remove an extension from Google Chrome:
 

1. On your browser, click menu . 
2. Select More tools > Extensions. 
3. On the extension you want to remove, click Remove from Chrome . 
4. A notice to remove the extension will appear. Click Remove.

Metal Gear Solid Online Launches on Steam

On a brighter tone, fans of Metal Gear Solid 5 on Steam are now able to play against each other with Metal Gear Online, which launched just recently.

Konami has announced Metal Gear Online is now available to all owners of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain on PC. Metal Gear Online entered beta just last week.
