Square Enix - More Hitman and New Collaboration
Following on from last editions news that Square Enix is looking to sell IO Interactive, it spoke up about the Hitman franchise. Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda, when quizzed for more information on the split, said "Because the firm is engaged in the development of Hitman and other renowned titles, we are negotiating with prospective external investors capable of ensuring that these titles carry on." This implies the series could continue either in-house, with a separate studio or even with IO Interactive, just on a freelance basis.
There has also been confirmation of "a new high-end original title for console and PC." being developed by People Can Fly, the developers behind Bulletstorm, in association with Square Enix. No further details are currently available.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Moves Development
Naoki Hamaguchi, the lead on Mobius Final Fantasy, released a Youtube video (warning: it is in Japanese) stating he was now the lead on the, long in development, Final Fantasy 7 remake, and all production had been moved to in-house. CyberConnect2, who had been developing it initially, seems to have been dropped in favor of more direct control. Whether this is a good or bad thing, though, remains to be seen as any major development change can have unforeseen consequences.
